One Was Not Enough
(written by Lori Menning; Illustrated by Jana Christy)
Book Review by Twinstuff.Com Staff
One Was Not Enough Another finalist in the annual Twins Magazine Fiction Contest, 'One Was Not Enough' is an excellent children's book for young twins and their parents.

Real-life mother of twins Lori Menning of Germantown, Tennessee has penned a story about her five-year-old boys, Zachary and Nicholas, and how the boys and their mother realize that twins are put in this world because sometimes one was not enough.

The back of the book calls 'One Was Not Enough' a "wonderful bedtime story to read to multiples ages 2 to 5 and for early readers and we agree. It's a quick story with colorful pages at 20 pages and a bargain at just $5.95. It may be out of stock at most bookstores now though so we're not entirely sure where to buy it. You could try sending the author a note and ask her where to buy the book if you're interested in it.

We've only read two winning stories in the Twins Magazine Fiction Contest (see our review of the 1998 winning 'You Can't Trick Me') and both featured young twin boys, one of whom was named Zachary. We don't know if Zachary is gaining popularity again as a name for twins (you can check out our online database to see for yourself) but we thought it was an interesting coincidence.
